I asked Miriam a question.
I reached for her book.
She gave me an answer.
“Every man is a potential adversary, even whom we love. Only through dialogue are we saved from this enmity toward one another. Dialogue is to love, what blood is to the body. When the flow of blood stops, the body dies. When dialogue stops, love dies and resentment and hate are born. But dialogue can restore a dead relationship. Indeed, this is the miracle of dialogue; it can bring relationship into being, and it can bring into being once again a relationship that has died.
There is only one qualification to these claims for dialogue: it must be mutual and proceed from both sides, and the parties to it must persist relentlessly. The word of dialogue may be spoken by one side but evaded or ignored by the other, in which case the promise may not be fulfilled. There is risk in speaking the dialogical word – that is, in entering into dialogue -but when two persons undertake it and accept their fear of doing so, the miracle-working power of dialogue may be released” from The Miracle of dialogue” by Reuel Howe
life leads to death, which leads to life
round and round we go
they need each other
it must be mutual and proceed from both sides, sacred twine
everything arranges itself according to Gods prayers
the miracle-working power of dialogue may be released, like Genii from a bottle
attracting just the right synchronicities
